BETTY WILSON CELEBRATION DAY
1 Dec 21
Kooyong

Playing a man short, the ACS Wandering XI again ran second in a high scoring run-fest at the Watson Park, home of the Camberwell Magpies thirds and fourths.

Captain Sam Ferguson felt we had enough at half-time.. a run rate of almost 5 an over after an inspired move to elevate Steve Kish to first drop.  The veteran responded with 35 of the best after big Sam had led the way at the head of the order with a sweetly timed 22. Later Geoff Craig (S Yarra CC) and Charles Norbury (ex-Carey first XI & Camberwell 4th XI)  added 50 for the fourth wicket in fine style.

Sam juggled the bowling superbly, but all were expensive, bar Geoff Craig (six overs for 13) and Rob Hansen, who took three wickets and was on a hat trick at one stage with his offies.

Thanks to Anthony Hall for organising such a great venue and for the food and hard and soft liquor, all of which was eagerly devoured and enjoyed.

ACS Wandering XI  3-187(cc) 40 Overs (Kish 35, Piesse 28, Ferguson 22, Craig 25no & Norbury 26no ) lost to Powerhouse XI 5-188 (Scotland 44 not out, Hansen 3-27), in the 33rd over.
