This year’s ACS winter warmer’s luncheon is a tribute to wicketkeepers of all ages. IT IS ON FRIDAY, JULY 15 (SORRY NOT THE 25TH)
Among the celebrated wicketkeepers to be attending are Graham Manou, Richie Robinson, Darren Berry, Peter Roach (pictured), present Victorian keeper Sam Harper and Norman Carlyon 1969-70 (titlewinning team).
Memorabilia hunters will be in their element as a special signed limited-edition program will be produced for the day and available only to attendees.
We’ll spend time with each of the ‘keepers. Ex-Victorian captain Robinson toured England and opened the batting in the Lord’s Test in ’77 while the distinguished ‘Chuck’ Berry (co-opted late in the Ashes tour in ’97) will talk about the thrill of keeping to the greatest of all, his best mate Shane Warne.
Old keepers of all standards will be interviewed by ACS president Ken Piesse as part of our luncheon, which again features two courses and unequalled fellowship.
We hope that as many ACS members as possible attend this grand event. Public transport is easy: tram or train.
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we had 100 or more, all paying inmate to these grand cricketers!
IF YOU ATTEND ONLY ONE FUNCTION ALL YEAR, CAN THIS BE THE ONE?
