The ACS is looking for a budding cricket writer who can contribute to our website, magazine and e-newsletters. We will offer a $2,000 scholarship to the right person, ideally someone currently studying journalism, preferably in Melbourne.
As part of the selection criteria, we would like those interested in the role and scholarship to provide a 300-500 word essay/human interest interview story relating to a cricketer/cricket personality. We will look to publish the best submissions in our Pavilion magazine, which we produce annually.
The successful candidate will be awarded the scholarship and be required to do other stories for the ACS under the terms of the 12-month scholarship supervised by Ken Piesse. Depending on quality and performance the opportunity for ongoing paid work in our publications may arise. If you are interested please contact Ken on 0419 549 458. We are also keen for the scholarship to sit within a tertiary framework, so if any of our readers is involved in running a journalism program through a tertiary institution please contact us. Our intention is to offer a journalism scholarship annually.
