THURSDAY NIGHT, JULY 1

Cricket’s No.1 writer David Frith has kindly agreed to join us ‘live’ via Zoom on Thursday night, July 1 at the first Australian launch of his latest book, PADDINGTON BOY, which he has signed especially for us.

Email me if you would like a copy. They are $60 posted. Or write to  me at PO Box 868, Mt Eliza, 3930, Vic. Please act now to avoid disappointment as we have only a limited supply.

David is a multi-awardwinner who has written more than 30 cricket books and has a worldwide readership, especially Downunder where he spent so many of his years, including for a time representing St George, Don Bradman’s old club, in their first XI.

Most of us know of his masterly illustrative book Pageant of Cricket and his classic Bodyline Autopsy, which is the definitive 1932-33 Ashes book.

David married a Queensland girl and for years they’d spent 6 months in Australia and 6 months in England, following the sun – and the cricket.

Among his most famous interviews were his meetings with reclusive Ashes pace legend Jack Gregory (the ‘Greta Garbo’ of cricket) and Eddie Gilbert, the Aboriginal express who once dismissed Don Bradman without scoring …. the Don later declaring it was the luckiest duck of his life!

Born in Paddington (London), David is a collector, a writer, a historian, a father and the ultimate cricket expert. Bar none. You will simply be spellbound.

Please, do join us.

ACS President Ken Piesse is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.
