The inaugural Bendigo Bank-Australian Cricket Society Scholarship squad has been chosen.
The 2021 intake of 12 features seven boys and five girls.
They will receive six weeks of High Performance coaching from the ACS’ head coach Keith Jansz in May and June this year.
They have been selected after successful trials held at Walter Galt Oval, home of Premier League club the Kingston Hawthorn Hawks.
More than 30 promising young players were invited to trial.
Jansz is regarded as one of the finest coaches in Melbourne. He has had successful stints at several Premier League clubs and also coached Sri Lankan representative teams.
The initial squad is: BOYS: Harry Cameron, George Pourpouras, Jaikar Arnich, Ollie Rivett, Abraham Matthews, Jock McKenzie and Billy Ross. GIRLS: Emily Taranto, Meera Hyderabad, Nilakshi Perera, Mannat Chadha and Sahana Tarini
Several emergencies were also named: Billy Thomson, Cooper Remy and Cate Fillipone.
Each will be provided with a comprehensive training schedule which will give them plenty of time to prepare and get organised for the High Performance Development Program.
Commencement Date – Monday 24th May 2021.
Venue – Saxon Sports, Lusher Road, Croydon. (a stellar indoor facility with excellent COVID protocols)
Time – 7.00pm to 9.00pm (2 hours)
Final Session – Monday 28th June 2021.
The program consists of 10 x 2 hour High Performance Development Sessions (3 nets + bowling machine).
